Mrs. Tozzi from Raleigh NC is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students resources to help them grow their minds in the areas of reading. Flexible seating is a great incentive for my students to find a quiet spot to cuddle up with a book.

I have taught for 18+ years. I began my career in Newark, NJ teaching 1st graders. Then I spent 10 years in Wayne, NJ as a reading specialist, working with struggling readers and supporting and training my teaching staff. Recently, we moved to North Carolina and I'm teaching 2nd grade at Barwell Elementary School in Raleigh.
My class is a very special group of kiddos.
My class is severally below grade level and I have been tasked with filling the gap of what they are missing to make them ready for 3rd grade. This group of kiddos are sweet, silly, playful but have limited exposure to life experiences and the english language.
We are working hard to fill the gaps but are in need to helpful tools to reach that goal. My students are just getting to the point where they are loving reading. I want to be able to expose them to many text not only to read and browse through, but also to read. My library for them is limited and I would love some materials to help grow their brains.
This is not a project per say- but an enhancement to my classroom library and small group reading instruction. My students are just beginning to really enjoy reading, and I want to give them more resource and comfy spaces to grow as learners.
Getting additional reading materials, flexible seating will help my students during center time.
We do a lot of moving around the classroom but also spend a great deal of time engaging in quiet reading. Right now I have some books and 2 places for flexible seating, but it isn't enough. I would love to give my kiddos variety and choice.
Teachers Pay Teachers is a very valuable resource in my class. My students need a variety of leveled texts, and articles to use to support reading fluency and comprehension. This site has a large selection of appropriate texts with connected skills to help them in small group and whole class instruction.
