Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love that my students enjoy reading and participating in literature circles. Right now my students read and discuss at their desks, but I would like to expand the library and reading section. Our current seats and desks now not only reduce classroom space significantly, but are broken, dirty and uncomfortable to sit in. Flexible seating is necessary for our active learning environments.

My students need flexible seating to compliment the 21st Century Learners that they are.

When they are in my classroom, I want them to be able to physically move around the room and sit in different areas than at their desk all the time. They also need supplies used in literature circles.

I want to create a library/reading section that would be comfortable and functional and include a new book shelf, flexible seating, throw pillows, book bins, and literature circle supplies (journals, discussion cube, highlighters).
