Third grade is a pivotal year in a child's academic journey. It is the year that students move from learning to read—decoding words using their knowledge of the alphabet—to reading to learn. The books children are expected to master are no longer simple primers but fact-filled informational texts.
To keep my students engaged and growing, I would like to provide them with various books that spark their imagination and love for reading.
Bookmarks, headphones and pencil holders will allow my students to access texts in various ways.
My goal for this project is to ensure that every child in my classroom has the opportunity to hold a copy of a book they enjoy reading and discussing.
