My Students

My students are middle schoolers and are searching for books that they will enjoy reading. My students in the Dual Immersion classes have various levels of Spanish, some coming from native backgrounds, and some are learning Spanish as a second language. My students are the only 8th graders in the district that are enrolled in the Dual Immersion program, so they are energetic, and ready to read books in Spanish!

They love reading books that are of interest to them!

My Project

My students are Spanish speakers and Spanish learners. We are working on building a classroom library with books in Spanish so that students can have book clubs and books of interest for silent reading.

These would books would be a great opportunity for students to learn to love reading in Spanish!

We will either have silent reading or book clubs where students can read a book together and dive into character analysis, plot development, and other literary topics. We will also use these books to work on literary response writing. These books are also great resources to have some authentic Spanish texts in our classroom curriculum.
