These children are our future! My classroom is very busy; my students are active, loud, and silly, and I love that about them. I want these students to develop a true love of learning this year and ensure them a long successful journey!
I do a lot of hands-on activities to keep my students' bodies busy and engaged throughout the school day.
Our school is in a small town with a large variety of socioeconomic status and race. The students and parents are hardworking and want the best for their children, and they respect the teachers and staff tremendously.
Common Core has really raised the bar for first grade. There is a lot of focus on testing and not a lot of focus on the fact that these students are only six or seven years old. I want to educate my students and see them succeed while still fostering their nature of being little kids.
We are in need of a few more materials for our classroom. We have many options for flexible seating but I would like to add additional stools to the classroom since they are one of the most popular seating options for first graders. In addition, the lighting in our classroom is very bright. The covers will cut down on the glare and harsh flicker of fluorescent lights and create a calm, relaxing environment at work, school, or home! Super-strong magnets attach the Fluorescent Light Filters safely and easily to most fluorescent light frames, softening the output for a more soothing experience. Finally, we are in need of a classroom pencil sharpener.
