My Project

My students love hands-on activities, so I am trying to provide them with another opportunity to start and maintain a hydroponic garden throughout the term.

Growing plants in the classroom was an incredibly rewarding experience for my students last term, so I hope to keep it going throughout the rest of the school year and into next year.

In order to keep it going, I will need to purchase nutrients and grow pods to replace the old ones. Sponges aren't reusable, and nutrients have to be changed every few weeks, so the process can get costly without any outside funding.

Help my students learn about photosynthesis and carbon sequestration by creating an indoor garden! Not only will they enhance their STEM skills, but they will be able to grow their own food when they leave my class! All food we grow is either eaten by the students who grow it or donated to the local food bank!
