Your contribution has had a significant and tangible impact on my students' learning experiences, allowing us to purchase materials that bring complex psychological concepts to life.\r\nYour support has provided resources that go beyond traditional textbook learning, fostering interactive and memorable educational opportunities. The purchased supplies were used across several key units, including biological bases of behavior and sensation and perception.\r\nThe materials have been used in the following specific ways:\r\n*Brain-shaped stress balls and markers: Students used the markers to draw and label the different lobes of the brain onto the stress balls. This hands-on activity created a practical, interactive way to understand brain anatomy, literally putting the structure of the brain into their hands. The markers have also been a versatile resource for other classroom needs.\r\n*Human brain coloring book: The coloring book was an excellent study aid during our biological bases of behavior unit. Students engaged in coloring the central nervous system, neurons, and specific parts of the brain, which reinforced their understanding of the material in a creative format.\r\n*Miracle fruit berries: These were a highlight of our sensation and perception unit. Students were able to experience a real-time shift in their taste perception. The berries temporarily changed their taste buds, providing a memorable, real-world example of how perception can be altered.\r\nThe impact of these materials has been profound. When they saw the little brains they were almost jumping for joy. Students have shown increased engagement and enthusiasm for these topics. As one student shared, \"I learn really a lot this way\", and when they were able to taste fruit after eating the miracle fruit berry, they said, \"this is the funnest class I have ever had\", which perfectly encapsulates the value of hands-on learning experiences made possible by your gift.","fullyFundedDate":1752785270745,"projectUrl":"project/a-little-brain-power/9452068/","projectTitle":"A Little Brain Power","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bertelsen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7708900_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x0,y19&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752001573497","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7708900"},{"teacherId":8634901,"projectId":9123727,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donation to our classroom! \r\nWith the addition of our tower, we now can grow up to 30 more plants at a time! \r\nThis year we plan to have our gardening class be in charge of planting seeds for the tower, as well as maintaining it. \r\n\r\nFor the most part, the tower will be used as an \"in between\" location for plants that are in their intermediate growth phase. By tailoring equipment to suit varying cognitive and motor skill levels, equipment such as foam discs, scarves, adaptive hockey and bowling sets has helped remove barriers that previously excluded many students from active involvement. Equipment such as larger or softer balls, textured grips, and simplified games provide opportunities for students to succeed and enjoy physical activity at their own pace. This inclusion fosters greater confidence, motivation, and a sense of achievement, encouraging students to stay physically active and develop lifelong health habits.\r\n\r\nThe adaptive equipment promotes social interaction and peer inclusion within physical education classroom. Students with intellectual disabilities can meaningfully participate alongside their peers, helping to break down social stigmas and build a more inclusive environment. Teachers are better able to differentiate instruction and create activities that accommodate diverse abilities. The impact of the donation of adaptive physical education equipment extends beyond physical development, contributing to a more equitable and supportive educational experience.","fullyFundedDate":1746457561154,"projectUrl":"project/adaptive-physical-education-equipment/9216097/","projectTitle":"Adaptive Physical Education Equipment","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Senne","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9986360"},{"teacherId":8634901,"projectId":8306862,"letterContent":"My students and I greatly appreciate your contribution to our classroom!
