My students come from a low-income community, located on the southeast side of Chicago. They inspire me and others, to learn from one another in exceptional and endless ways each day.
My students are not given the same resources as students who attend suburban schools, yet they are special because they strive to be the best they can, and no matter the challenges, they succeed.
As a freshman teacher, supporting our 9th graders has truly been a blessing for me. My students are motivated and always take every day as an opportunity to grow.
In Biology and Chemistry we want students to actively work in person and remote setting. Transitioning from the hectic school year of pandemic, students have adapted to using headphone and learning remotely.
We want our students to be taking responsibility for their education in the classroom, while the teachers are facilitating the learning.
A good way to make sure this is happening is by providing students with headphones that allow them to work in groups social distanced while watching scientific videos.
Providing this resources allows for greater classroom differentiation of learning techniques. This learning style allows students to have personal conversations that aid in learning and even learn from each other on a different level than a traditional classroom style while building a strong classroom and student rapport.
