Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach at an Art and Science Magnet school. My students pick an area of concentration whether that be science, dance, art, band, or drama. Students who are in my classes are either the lab students who take their core science class and mine or students are in the accelerated class. Accelerated classes are working towards receiving high school credit in 8th grade.

Students in my classes come to our school to improve themselves academically, particularly in science.

It is so important that I challenge them and allow them to explore the world while in my class.

My Project

My classroom is in need of headphones. Mt students struggle with having headphones for class and being able to listen to what a program or video is telling them. We recently just got some Chromebooks and students who forget to have a set of earbuds or headphones. So while a video is playing so are several other videos.

With science it is so important for students to be able to hear words said correctly and said correctly in the correct context.

Several of my English language learners would benefit from being able to concentrate on what the speaker is saying by having a set of headphone. Several of my other students who have accommodations would also benefit from having headphones so that they can listen more closely to what is being said.
