This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at an inner city school in a low income neighborhood. My students are bright, caring, and interested in the world around them. Creating a comfortable and functional classroom space will allow my students to feel positive about coming to school each day. We are currently focusing on reading workshop where students read independently each day to build an enjoyment of reading as well as to practice the skills they are learning in class. Flexible seating gives students a chance to get comfy with their favorite books.

My Project

Our classroom recently lost some materials when a leak in the roof of our school ruined materials that were in a section of our room. We lost a lot of supplies and had games, books, paper, clipboards, and other things lost. I am hoping to replace some of the things we use most often through this project. Specifically a vocabulary game, paper, dry erase markers, and clipboards.

Almost all of the materials in my classroom are teacher supplied so to have things ruined by a leak in the building is very distressful because it's my things and my money that have been lost and also it leaves you needing things for your classroom that you already paid for.
