My Project

Each year we have a classroom store, all year long. The students earn money through good behavior and doing their work. They can practice counting over and over throughout the year instead of in a few small lessons.

The students can practice spending money in a more real-world situation.

They count their money and choose what they're going to buy from our classroom store. They can choose from a tiny treat from our dispenser (the M&M's, Skittles, and Sweetarts), a treasure from the treasure box, a polished rock, a drink, some popcorn, a grab bag - with several treats in it (our most expensive item they save for). They can buy an erasable pen, or a desk pet or accessory, they can also buy an activity to do during recess for one of the days during the week.

The students keep their "banks" in their desks throughout the week and as they earn money they can keep track of how much they have. They are motivated to get their work done and do well in class so they can earn more money for the class store!

We would love to have these items to start us out well-stocked for our class store this fall.
