My students need some classroom classics such as masking tape, wall tape, new pencils, erasers, tissues, wipes, light filters, band aids (for real and imagined boo-bos) and the all Lysol Spray for the September sniffles.

My Students

A typical day in Guidance is never typical! I am up, down, around and all over the place trying to reach each student on their level. My greatest desire is to help my students achieve their goals and to teach them how to be successful citizens of the world.

I work in a Title 1 elementary school in an urban setting.

I serve and support the social/emotional needs of approximately 480 students in grades prekindergarten through 5. Our school serves a large military population and many of my students come from difficult backgrounds. I try to make each student feel safe and cared for so they can succeed during the school day.

My Project

As a School Counselor, I use many of the same materials as my teacher colleagues but without the ability to send home a supply list with students. Frequently, these supplies come out of my pocket or I beg and borrow extras from teachers.

Batten down the hatches the kids are coming and September is near!

I would like to be at the head of the class this year with my own supplies in stock for my kiddos. Tissues for September sniffles and tears, wipes for sticky hands, band-aides for boo boos both real and imagined, tape for displaying fantastic works, and pencils and erasers to create it.

These supplies will go into circulation immediately and last into the year. If you know kids, especially the younger ones, then you know how quickly they power through these types of supplies. Any help in getting my classroom/office up and running, ready for kids is appreciated.
