My students are energized, creative, and hardworking third-grade children. They are writers, illustrators, singers, comedians, and so much more.
We are a Title I school and this year, one hundred percent of students will receive free breakfast and lunch.
We are located in a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our children come from low socioeconomic households and assistance is often needed to help them find success. Teachers in our school are continually helping families in any way possible. We care for our students as our own.
Students LOVE when we receive new books for our classroom library. One thing that I love to introduce in the final quarter of the school year is book clubs. Students can select the book of their choice out of certain available books, and they will join in with their classmates who have the same books. Students will use these books to guide conversations, make recommendations and create lasting book talk memories. The excitement within our classroom when Book Club begins is energizing. To watch the interest levels of the students and their conversations blossom, are both heartwarming and fun. I look forward to utilizing these new books to create a love of reading and hopefully, students will want to go on to join book clubs outside of our classroom in the future!
