Classroom Carpet

Help me give my students a new carpet! We spend a LOT of our day on the carpet for our whole-group lessons and we are in desperate need of a larger rug that will give us more space.

My Students

My first grade students are kind, creative, and thoughtful. Most importantly, they love learning! Research has proven that students learn best when they are engaged in high-interest hands-on activities. I am seeking to provide them with that type of learning environment!

My students come to school each day and try their very best.

I, as their teacher, have the honor and responsibility of doing the same. Therefore, I am creating DonorsChoose projects to help create a more meaningful, engaging, positive, and comfortable learning environment for my sweet students!

My Project

Almost all of our whole-group lessons take place on the carpet in front of our Smart Board. Our current carpet is small and it is difficult for students to concentrate while they are on top of one another.

This new carpet will allow students to sit comfortably while participating in engaging learning activities!

The colors match our classroom theme and the size is a perfect fit for our needs. Students will have plenty of room to sit "criss-cross applesauce, hands in a basket" without bumping into their friends or becoming distracted by each other. Thank you so much for your donations!
