My 3rd grade students are eager, energetic learners. I strive to channel their energy to work productively as team members while solving problems using a growth mindset. We work to make connections between concepts to further grow our understanding and learn together.
My students are very enthusiastic learners.
Many things excite them. When I introduced our Classroom Book A Day challenge at the beginning of the year, I had no idea the impact it would have in our classroom. Our district is a high-poverty district with over 50% of our students qualifying for free or reduced-price meals, so many students do not come to school with their basic needs met. A simple 5-10 minute daily routine has made a difference in setting the tone each day in our classroom.
My Project
The Classroom Book A Day #2 books I am requesting will continue our journey through reading a picture book a day by supplying us with engaging titles and continue to nurture a love for reading. Students start each day listening to a story read by their teacher. A picture of the book cover is then posted in the classroom.
What a great way to start the day, learn valuable lessons, expand vocabulary, explore a variety of themes, and share the joy of reading!
This project turns my learners into readers. By having the books available in my classroom, the kids will be able read them over and over again. To see them this excited about reading really warms this teacher's heart!
