I am a kindergarten teacher in a high poverty school with a diverse student population.

I have been told many times that the school does not have the money to buy things for my classroom that would greatly enhance my students kindergarten experience.

The sand and water table is a place to learn several different concepts and skills. My students would get to experience measuring volume, weight, balance and distance. They would also learn the concepts of more and less, empty and full. Fine motor skills are enhanced when my students will have the chance to mix, scoop, dump, pour, and drip. This will also develop vocabulary as my students will be able to take what we have been learning and apply it to this experience.
