My Students

All of our school's Pre-K through 3rd Grade Students are encouraged to think critically and explore through a hands-on, process-based curriculum. The inspired work that they create in school is VALUED and RECOGNIZED.

We are a NYC Public School in Queens - nearly 60% of students qualify for free/reduced lunch.

Our school's high poverty/high need classification has never stopped our students from doing their best. Over 90% of our Grade 3 students performed at Level 3 or above on the NY English Language Arts & Math Assessments - reflecting continued strong performance even against higher testing standards. Our commitment to differentiated instruction supports students of all ability levels in every classroom by integrating: 1) English Language Learners (ELL students) 2) English as a Second Language (ESL students) 3) Students with Special Needs 4) General Education students Our diverse community is quite international with almost 70% of children coming from homes where English is spoken as a second language. One-fifth of our students receive extra support for learning English. We also provide communication materials to parents in four home languages (English, Chinese, Spanish & Korean).

My Project

We are requesting: - (20) boxes of pre-sharpened PENCILS - (20) reams / (2) cases of COPY PAPER - (3) boxes of LAMINATING POUCHES Pencils and Paper are the most basic needs of any early childhood classroom. Our 3rd Grade students are working hard every day to prepare for the upcoming New York State Assessment Tests. These supplies will support our students' preparation in all subject areas. Laminating Pouches will be used to PRESERVE AND DISPLAY STUDENT WORK throughout the school year - including Writing projects and Artwork. Students always enjoy when their hard work is rewarded with a display. The lamination will even further showcase their efforts and reinforce the importance of their self-expression. Once the displayed work is returned to the Students, the laminated pieces will be terrific keepsakes of the most memorable projects that they have created at school. Parents and students will be proud! Help our young students on their way to become college and career ready!

These are simple requests, but just unaffordable in current NYC school budgets.

We want to provide our 3rd Grade Students with all of the basic tools that they need at school and know that their individual determination will drive them toward academic success. Your help will allow us to showcase our students' best work & achievements throughout the school year...and beyond - for their families to treasure. The simple act of laminating a student's project immediately validates its importance!
