Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Preparing strong leaders to positively impact the world! That is the goal of our illustrious school. Students who attend this school must go through an application process and meet high academic standards. Many of our students are English Language Learners taking advanced courses. Our population is predominately Hispanic. Seventy-nine percent of our students come from low SES.
For many of our students, this school is their ticket to a better life.
The odds are often stacked against these students. They are able to prove that regardless of their background, with hard work and resilience, they will excel.
My Project
Having the opportunity to teach biology this year has been incredible. I love that my students are in the lab weekly doing different experiments to deepen their learning. They are learning by doing, which is the best!
I was not able to create my own list of supplies for my classroom this year, and I really want to make this lab my own.
We are needing basic classroom supplies, as well as supplies for the lab. I am in need of items to help us efficiently and thoroughly clean our lab equipment and tables. By gaining these supplies, I will be able to keep my students safe and our lab clean. I will be able to run my classroom in the ideal way!
