We are a second grade inclusion classroom with a mixture of general education and special needs students in a high needs area in the Bronx. My students are a group of diverse learners, with a wide range of abilities.
Many of my students enjoy being in school and coming into my classroom every day; they see it as a consistent part of their lives.
With their desire to learn and the effort they put forth, these children inspire me every day.
Being a Title I school, the majority of students come from low-income homes, shelters, or from homes with limited parental involvement, but they are enthusiastic and come to school every day ready to learn. They see school as a consistent part of their daily lives and love to make me proud. My students are some of the happiest children I have ever had the pleasure of working with, and they inspire me to provide the best education I can for them.
My Project
We really need these basic items for our classroom. With the colored cardstock paper we will be able to print out games. I believe that learning should be a fun experience for my kids. Being able to print math, reading, and spelling games on colored cardstock makes it an enjoyable experience for the students. Plus, being on cardstock paper means the game pieces will last longer and they will not tear or crumple.
Having the charging system will allow us to charge all 4 iPads at the same time!
Imagine it's finally your turn to go on the iPad and play your most favorite math game only to be told that it's not charged! Disappointing, isn't it? Since my classroom only has two, yes two, outlets, it becomes somewhat of a challenge to keep the iPads charged all the time. With this charging station I will be able to charge all four at the same time - what an awesome way to start the day!
Having the 10-drawer cart will make storing and organizing our classroom materials easier. It will be easier for each table captain to go get the required amount of glue sticks, scissors, tape and other materials they need for quick set up and clean up.
