Class Supplies Are Running Low

Help me give my students some fresh supplies for their classroom, we need new easel pads and post its for reading!

This project expired on February 20, 2020.

My Students

My students come from all walks of life. Even though many of them come from high poverty backgrounds, they come in with a smile. I have a diverse group of students who come together as a classroom family everyday. I am pleasantly surprised at how much they care for each other as well as other citizens in our community.

A few shining examples of student-led projects include a school-wide kid to kid coat drive, trick or treat for UNICEF and raising food to donate to a local community food bank.

Students thought of these projects on their own through the inquiry-based International Baccalaureate units.

These globally minded citizens are still kids. They enjoy learning through games and other hands-on experiences. I want to keep them engaged in school. The more positive experiences I can provide, the more kids come to school to be a part of the community. Please help me support them as they support others.

My Project

It's nearing the end of October and certain supplies are starting to dwindle. Students are using supplies to track their thinking, create meaningful discussions and create original compositions.

We use our chart paper daily to record class discussions for reflection later.

We post our discussions around the classroom throughout the units, so that they are always a part of our learning. The giant post-its allow us to move and rearrange the thinking as we progress and change.

I have also asked for a fresh supply of color pencils and post-its for the children to highlight important passages, make connections and color code their notes. These supplies get used daily to help students comprehend their reading.
