My Project

I want a class set of headphones and books for my students. I teach 5th-grade English Language Arts and Social Studies, and students would greatly benefit from both.

Runs with Courage tells the story of a Native American girl’s perseverance in 1880.

It would help my students access an Indigenous perspective, which has been excluded from American history for so long. It is an engaging read and at a good level for my students. It also relates to both topics I teach, allowing for cross-curriculum teaching.

A class set of headphones would support my students in completing work and research more independently. Students can listen to read-alouds, videos, and interactive websites more efficiently and independently. Specifically, my neurodivergent and English Language Learners would benefit the most.
