This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our class pets, William and Alan, the guinea pigs, bring so much joy to our classroom. I was hesitant to add the extra work of a pet, but it has proven to be one of the best things I have done for my students. Our pets make us laugh every day.

They are often called on to comfort a student who is having a rough time.

It is not uncommon to find them tucked into the hoodie pockets of students. Having a pet has created a classroom environment of caring and kindness.

Our piggies need bedding and cage liners to remain safe and healthy.
