Civil Rights Movements During the 1960's/70's Through Expression and Art

Help me give my students 300 buttons and a few sets of markers to express their learning through art. This is a unique activity and opportunity for my students that will have a lasting impact.

My Project

This assignment allows students to express what they have learned through arts and crafts. Within this activity students will be researching Civil Rights Movements throughout the 1960's and 70's. Using the knowledge from their research students will then articulate their knowledge by construction a button that illustrates the overall mission, motive or even ones frustration from this time period.

This allows my students to engage in this empowering and educational activity, by designing and wearing these buttons, students not only show their support for important causes they also promote conversations and awerness within their school and community.

These buttons can serve as a reminder for the endless struggles and achievements of the civil rights movement, encouraging discussions about equality, justice and the ongoing fight for social change.

Students will do this by creating their own button that signifies a movement in history. This donations provides students the buttons, art supplies needs to create and laminate sheets to protect their project moving forward.
