My Project

My STEAM Art students will consider the importance of giving back to nature and architectural engineering as they design and create bird-Château's out of clay. Students will consider our State bird and their habitat as well as consider what are load bearing walls, balance & stabilization, post and lintel, archways, and flying buttresses.

The grant provides a wonderful opportunity to introduce 3D pottery and explore STEAM and the principle techniques of design and manufacturing to help students communicate their visual language.

Our Château's (or Bird-Lord of the Manors) are created for the fine country house of nobility or gentry, with or without fortifications, originally, and still most frequently, in our region.

Château's must hang from a tree as well as have Curb Appeal that make any home improvement show envious.
