Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are smart, creative and full of energy for learning! We enjoy doing group activities and bringing math and science to life! A typical day in our 5th-grade room starts with smiles at the door. There is a sense of joy that makes our classroom special-the students love to learn! They love to set their own goals and surprise themselves when they see their own potential. I love observing this!

Technology allows them to gain new perspectives of the world around them and by highly engaged

I teach at a Title I school in Louisiana where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.

My Project

I am confident that the students will benefit from having 2 additional Chromebooks available to them while at school daily. Right now we do not have enough in our classroom. My students will take pride in their accomplishments and reach their goals by having access to this amazing piece of technology.

My vision is to integrate Chromebooks into our classroom routines, so my students can use the various math and programs that our school provides.

Zearn and Reflex Math are two programs that significantly improve my student's​ computation, fluency, and math skills. The Chromebooks will also enhance students' overall math skill, which will better prepare them for middle school.
