My students need Chromebooks so that we can bring technology into our classroom for learning, researching, learning to type, accessing Google Classroom, and so much more.
Nelson Mendela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon in which you can use to change the world." I agree; my students are our future. They are going to be the doctors, teachers, innovators, and so on of our future. It is important that we give them a strong education now so they can be successful and have a bright future. With the right resources and materials, we can make this happen. I work at Title I School that is located near a military base and serves military students.
100% of my students receive free breakfast and lunch due to their low soci-economic status.
Another portion of my students come from military homes in which case they have families overseas or come from a single-parent household. All of our students are excited to learn and need materials and resources that they aren't able to get at home. They do not let their socioeconomic status and/or language barriers stop them from reaching their fullest potential. With the right materials and resources, students will be able to receive a powerful education that will allow them to solve any of the world's issues.
My Project
As a teacher in the 21st century, I know how important it is for children to have access to technology. My students need two Chromebooks with management consoles for a variety of educational opportunities such as: research, taking Reading Counts tests after completing a book, extra math and reading support on I-Ready, Google classroom and Google docs, Kahoot, Quizlet, Khan Academy, tutoring, and so many other educational sites. The students creative side could come alive also, with the use of these Chromebooks! So many projects can be created using them. My students no longer have a computer lab as a resource each week, so we need these two Chromebooks in the classroom to help with assignments and daily work.
I believe every student, regardless of socioeconomic status, should have access to computers in their classroom!
I am making a few projects to help acquire some Chromebooks in the classroom. Ideally, it would be wonderful for each child to have their own Chromebook. These Chromebooks would be essential learning tools in the classroom. I know my students would find value in using them every day. The funding of this project will truly be the gift that keeps on giving for many years to come. Thank you so much!
