My Students

My students are a group of students in an urban middle school (grades 7 & 8). Many of my students live at or near poverty with a large number being non-native English speakers. All use the library in some capacity. Many of these students lack technology access at home and rely on our school's one-to-one (1:1) technology deployment to complete school work.

Our school is a high-needs school, with 81% receiving free or reduced rate lunch and 24% of our population is multi-lingual.

They are hard working students who love to read and collaborate with their peers. The library is a place where many come to read, work on homework, create something new, or socialize. They use school computers to complete school work.

My Project

My students need Chromebooks to help them learn in class. Our school operates on a one-to-one learning model, with each student having a Chromebook to take to and from school. We need to replace two Chromebooks that have worn out.

Because of our school's high-poverty rate, many students do not have personal computers at home and take home their Chromebooks so that they can do their school work or homework.

These two Chromebooks will help us update and replace two Chromebooks that have worn out. Chromebooks are vital tools for students in class as many teachers use innovative digital teaching practices to supplement their instruction, practices that are not easily duplicated with offline techniques. Please help us replace these Chromebooks.
