Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 5th grade students need to have access to technology. The majority of my students are in a lower socioeconomic climate and do not have daily interaction with technology.
My students are diverse with the majority being Hispanic and English language learners so having technology that allows my students to access more resources in reading and writing will help all of my students.
This year 5th grade has moved to middle school in our district and with the change I am at a new school and excited to teach English Language Arts to my new students.
My Project
The chrome books and headphones will be used to provide my 5th grade ELA students with access and exposure to technology. Many of our students do not have daily access to technology but they need to have some computer skills and awareness as more of our class resources are online.
Also, as 5th graders they are required to type an essay during their state tests, however, most do not have enough familiarity with how a keyboard works to type an essay correctly.
By having the Chromebooks in our classroom, my 5th graders will be able to use them to develop writing and keyboard skills to help ensure better success.
