Our 5th grade is departmentalized and each 5th grade class comes to my classroom for writing and word study. This allows for specific focus on building strong academic writing. The storage will benefit the students by helping them stay organized and avoid a cluttered writing environment. The carpet will provide a flexible writing and reading space under our writing tree, for students working on journals and pre-writing activities. This is a space my students are very excited about, designed to encourage students to write freely and not fear the blank page. By donating to our project, you will be a part of each student's success in building strong, academic writing skills which will continue to benefit them as they go through middle and high school and college.
