I have an amazing group of 4th grade students who come to school each day ready to learn despite their daily challenges. They love school, are eager to learn, and are super dedicated kids. My students come from an inner city school in which the population consists of many diverse backgrounds, economically disadvantaged homes, and daily life struggles. Many of my students don't have access to computers at home, and we are about to lose the desktop computers in our classrooms.
Helping my students grow and be the best they can be is my ultimate goal as their teacher!
My classroom has a broad range of ability levels and a challenge as a classroom teacher is to accommodate all these levels. By providing Chromebooks, I will be able to use programs online where students work at their own individual levels and at their own pace. The students will have the opportunity to have fun learning using technology in the classroom!
My Project
My 4th grade students love working and exploring on the computers! I would be so grateful to a have a set of Chromebooks for my classroom to enhance instruction and bring my classroom up to date with the amazing capabilities of technology. This would provide the opportunity for my students to learn in a fun engaging way on a daily basis.
I believe increasing access to technology with the use of Chromebooks will motivate my students to want to learn more and provide life-long skills.
The Chromebooks would be used during math and English language arts centers for students to go on programs that reinforce my teaching and allow students to work at their own ability levels. Students will use the Chromebooks as a center while I am working with the rest of the class. Students will be able to play engaging math games, practice math skills, watch educational videos, have stories read aloud to them, increase comprehension, practice typing skills by writing, along with being prepared for assessments. All of this will enhance their learning with the access of Chromebooks and make learning fun and engaging!
