This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is in a low income neighborhood where the majority of the students qualify for free and reduced-price meals. I teach in a bilingual classroom, and the majority of my students lack access to material that many children take for granted--access to a wide variety of books, basic school supplies, art materials and technology.

My students are enthusiastic and love to learn new things!

I want to provide them with as many experiences as possible and need assistance to provide the necessary materials.

My Project

As the English model in a dual immersion program at our school, I work with two groups of students each day, seeing a total of 54 kids. I currently have three Chromebooks in my classroom that the children love to use, and an additional three would allow a small group to be working with these throughout the day.

Having Chromebooks in my classroom would allow my students to work daily on coding, do research, put together presentations, intervention activities, or read books together while gaining critical computer literacy skills and experience needed to excel in their school lives and beyond!
