My students need Chromebooks in my gifted math and reading classroom that they can access any time. Currently we borrow Chromebooks when they are available from regular education or special education classroom.
My students come from all social and economic backgrounds and have been clustered together due to their cognitive ability. We work on thinking outside the box and finding all the different ways that they process information and learn new things. I have 4 different nationalities represented in my classroom and these students have found commonality with each other via their desire to work hard and exploring different ways to feed their inquisitive minds - further and more actively than in a traditional classroom.
My students are high cognitive learners and I feel like a great way to optimize collaboration is to use Chromebooks in the classroom by letting students use them in group work.
Students can get together in groups with their Chromebooks and share ideas via google docs and other collaborative sites. Students can proof read each others work and share ideas.
I believe that utilizing technology in the classroom is a great way to bring my class to life.
My Project
My students are high cognitive learners who are very curious about the world around them. Growing up in a tech savvy world allows them to ask questions and get answers quickly and I want to make every opportunity for my students to empower themselves to learn. By using iPads and Chromebooks everyday in my classroom, my gifted students can work independently and in groups allowing them to collaborate and create presentations on material they research.
These students enjoy researching topics that interest them on Chromebooks and they thrive on the ability to seek information above their grade level.
Using Chromebooks everyday in our classroom would allow them to continue to gain information in this fast paced environment.
