Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
There are 117 students in my cluster. There are over 41% of my students are ELLs and new arrivals. We are a Title I school and our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school has 84.4% which qualifies our school as a Title I school. In September, the benchmark indicated that 83% of my students scored "basic", "below basic", or "on watch". Many of my students have gaps in their math education.
Many of my disadvantaged students have gaps in their math education.
Technology and resources will help many of my students who don't have access at home.
My students will benefit enormously to utilize Chromebooks with a distance-learning format. As of March 30th, my students have been learning at home. Our school district has been closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. We are living in challenging times, as many of my students do not have Chromebooks in their homes. These Chromebooks can help ten students at a time. Hopefully, when we go back to school it will be utilized by 117 students.
My Project
Please help me give our students Chromebooks for home and distance learning due to the COVID-19 Virus. My students are quarantined at home and are not able to leave their homes during this pandemic. I am willing to deliver these Chromebooks to my school for the parents to sign a loan and borrow for our students to use during distance learning. A lot of our students are lacking in technology and will be extremely appreciative to utilize these Chromebooks during these unprecedented times. It would allow our students to continue to learn.
