My Students

My high school is situated in a rural community in Monroe County, TN. Here, we encourage our students to do the incredible every day. Unfortunately, we aren’t always given the tools and resources to help them accomplish the incredible.

I use my English 12 class as an opportunity to teach real-life skills each student will need to know, understand, and master to be competitive in the next steps of their future.

Research papers, resumes, interviews, technical writing, top the list.

My Project

Students in my English 12 class focus on research skills and writing papers, interview skills and resumes-the practical uses of English. I want to have a paperless classroom where students submit assignments electronically, have constant online access for research purposes, and write papers, reports, emails, etc., which will prepare them for the next step in their journey. While my school does have several computer labs, classes are held in these labs daily making it difficult to schedule enough time to assign these projects. Having my own set of Chromebooks will give my students the chance to excel in their future.
