My students need three Chromebooks and headphones for daily use with the following activities: centers, research, educational programs, and educational games.
My students walk into the classroom every day ready to learn and excited for what is in store for them that day. They are eager to learn and explore new and exciting concepts.
My students want the opportunity to research, practice their reading through technology, and explore more about Florida's history.
My students are hard workers who dream of being the best. They create amazing projects, have respectful conversations, and question things that they aren't sure about. They are so intelligent and work so hard to be successful. I feel incredibly lucky to work with such wonderful students, parents, community, and school.
My Project
My students get to go to the computer lab once a week for computer-based learning. However, I want my students to be able to learn on the computers as much as possible. A computer is a tool just like a book, encyclopedia, or pencil is. Students need to learn to use today's tools.
My students are excited to use technology in the classroom, and they are often disappointed when I cannot always make that happen.
I would like to give my students the opportunity to use computers on a daily basis. I would like to have multiple activities going on at once in my classroom. In order to differentiate the instruction and allow my students to learn using multiple learning styles, I need to provide them with a computer center.
I only have three student computers in my classroom, and this isn't enough to allow every student ample time on a computer daily. Having an additional three computers with headphones in my classroom would allow the opportunity for all students to use a computer every day in class. I would always be able to have a computer center where students would be able to deepen their learning on the computer through educational programs, researching, and games.
With state testing now taking place on computers, it is also beneficial to give my students an opportunity to strengthen their basic computer knowledge and skills. Students need to be comfortable using a computer so that they are comfortable while they are taking their yearly state assessment.
