My Students

"I am trying to convince people-not only the public, but lawmakers and people in power that investing in the frontier of science, however remote it may seem in its relevance to what you're doing today, is a way of stockpiling the seed corns of future harvests of this nation."- Neil DeGrasse Tyson. My students are diverse groups who have an immense appetite for interactive, hands on science!

My students span from GATE/honors students, general education students, English language learners, students with 504 plans, and students with Individualized Education Plans.

My students are extremely curious, creative, and want the ability to interact with the science world around them!

My Project

Chromebooks will allow my students to access web based apps and online curriculum. Through google apps, students will have access to sheets, slides, docs and many others apps that will assist in their data analysis. Web based simulations, like PhET, will allow students to explore and discover scientific principles.

If funded, my students will be able to use these devices to analyze and visually represent data, use sensors and data collection systems, and create a learning environment that emphasizes a STEM curriculum.

In a world that’s becoming increasingly complex, where success is driven not only by what you know, but by what you can do with what you know, it’s more important than ever for our youth to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information.
