My students are kind, loving, hardworking, inquisitive, perhaps sometimes rambunctious or a little mischievous 2nd graders. Furthermore, they come from families that are humble, deserving, and thankful. Our school is a Title I school in an urban area where many of our students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and all students receive free meals and other services. The school supports the whole child through a series of programs. Our population is diverse and growing. The school and our district have seen significant increases, having grown to be the fifth largest in the nation. The students are predominantly English language learners.
Our school strongly believes in nurturing respect and a love of learning with our students, partnering with their families, and reaching out to the surrounding community.

My Project
I am requesting your donations to assist me in adding more technology for my students. By adding two new Chromebooks, more students will be able to access programs to enhance their learning potential. Students will be using a keyboarding program, typing their writing which makes Chromebooks an excellent option for my students as they have a keyboard. The class will also be able to use their other programs for reading and math like Accelerated Reader or ST Math. Using technology is a cornerstone to being college and career ready. Thank you for supporting my second graders as they accomplish great things.
