Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

As a teacher that works in a Title I school district, I am aware of the many differences, challenges, and experiences that many of my students face. In my classroom, I strive to create an environment that allows students to be expressive and confident in themselves, while learning to respect and embrace differences in others. I also emphasize that respecting our environment is important.

I want students to take pride in themselves, each other, and their classroom community.

Being organized and taking care of class resources builds character traits that are important.

My students are enthusiastic and imaginative with a strong desire to express their thoughts through a variety of ways. They enjoy coming to school to learn from and teach each other.

My Project

The Laptop and Tablet Storage Cart will give my students the opportunity to safely store and maintain our chromebooks. The storage cart will give designated space to each student to keep their devices, while allowing them to charge as well.

Students are learning to be responsible, independent, and thoughtful of their own personal items and the property of others.

It is important for them to know that taking care of items and resources will benefit not only them, but also their peers, community, and others. I try to teach my students that being considerate of others is a valuable characteristic.
