My Students

I’m a 4th grade teacher with a classroom of 26 students. We are a Title I school in Idaho, where more than 40% of the students qualify for free and reduced lunch.

Students love choosing where and what type of seating is best for their learning.

Students are taught how to take ownership of their learning and part of that choosing what environment works best for them, including seating.

Our classroom has a few flexible seating options, but we need your help to complete options for every student.

My Project

Sitting an entire day in uncomfortable chairs is difficult for many students. The materials requested in the project (stools, wobble cushions, and convertible bench) will give my students optional seating to help encourage movement and a positive comfortable learning environment.

Giving students different seating options not only helps students to feel a sense of ownership in our classroom, but it also encourages students to move which gives them more energy for learning.

The items in this project will help create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable, joyful, and energized to take ownership of their learning. This will help turn our classroom into flexible seating options for all students.
