This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Embryology--Incubating and hatching eggs is such a memorable and special experience for students. Our students come from an urban environment so bringing a project like this gives them direct experiences to the farming environment.

In the study of embryology students will learn to develop life skills as they listen, observe and experiment.

The unit will also build their curiosity with living things, the life cycles of chickens and their habitats. This type of activity also increases student engagement.

Students will also get experience in the investigation of how organisms change and develop over time. the life cycle of a chicken and will experience first hand the hatching process. Students will do various activities throughout the 21 days to learn about hens, the different types chickens, the basic needs of growing chicks, the production of eggs and why prices have risen and many other activities. They will read a variety of books about chickens both nonfiction and fiction.

We want this project to be a memorable experience for our multilingual learners.
