Chinese Cultural Immersion through Arts and Crafts

My Students

My students are part of DLI Chinese immersion program. They come from both local community and neighborhood cities with a diverse background.

I love how they are willing to embrace a different language and culture!

To learn Chinese language arts as well as math and science in Chinese is definitely not an easy route to go. Yet my students’ passion and dedication drive me to provide a better learning environment for them every day! I look forward to the opportunity providing an enhanced learning environment.

My Project

Culture is something intangible yet important to really know and love a language. China, as a country with more than 5000 years of history, has a lot to be introduced to my students.

This project will give my students the opportunities to immerse into Chinese culture through arts and crafts.

They will experience a Chinese new year celebration, and learn Chinese folk songs/ballads through Sllegro. They will also learn how to decorate a Chinese round fan with Chinese characters and paintings. This would be a wonderful experience for the little minds that would benefit their language learning in depth.
