I guess every teacher feels like his or her students are the best, but mine truly ARE the best. Ha Ha! I have the most fun with this class of gifted and talented third graders.
In our room, we are thinking, laughing, creating, imagining, and learning in the best ways.
We are a class of strong readers and writers who love to read. We love to learn new things and we are curious. As the teacher, I learn from them daily.
My Project
Playing is the way children learn. Imagination and creative thinking are two skills in which our children need help. My students are growing accustomed to letting someone or something think for them. Gone are the days when we truly discovered things on our own.
I want to be the teacher who encourages free thought and higher-thinking skills.
I want to have games that make my gifted and talented students THINK!! I want them to sit on the floor and play and challenge themselves and their peers. I want to provide an iPad with apps that require strategy and deep thought. In addition, I want to order a sturdy case to ensure that the iPad is protected and headphones so that no one is disturbed while their imaginations are being exercised!
