Chia Pet Project

Help me give my students the materials they need to create their own chia pets for our plants unit!

My Students

Though my students come from a small West Virginia town that most people have never heard of, they are some of the brightest minds I have ever had the privilege of teaching. They love to learn and strive to do their best in all things! I couldn't ask for a better job or a better grade of students to teach. They all truly hold a special place in my heart!

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting will be used by my students to make their very own chia pet! The chia pet will be a great hands-on activity for our plant unit, where my students will be learning about parts of plants, what plants need to grow and thrive, and how plants aid all ecosystems.

Hands-on activities really help students retain what they have learned and expand their knowledge on an assigned topic.

My students will be creating a chia pet of themselves to help aid them in their exploration of plants. Pictures of my students' faces will be Mod Podged to the flower pot, the saucer will be placed on top of the flower pot, and chia seed will be added to the saucer so it looks as if my students are growing hair and the chia sprouts. My students, I know, will get a big kick out of this project and it will help them retain the information they need to know about plants and how they grow!
