Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine walking into an old building with a variety of floors and a maze of hallways. Imagine this building's space was reconfigured to hold your pre-school due to space constraints. Imagine feeling extremely small in a very large space. Imagine not feeling comfortable in this space or in your home school. Many of our students at our Early Childhood Center feel this way on their very first day of school!
Benjamin Franklin said, "Tell me and I'll forget.
Show me and I may remember. Involve me and I learn."
Our students come from a variety of economic backgrounds and ethnically diverse populations. Our students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
My Project
Many of our preschool students learn in a variety of ways. Some students have intensive needs while others do not. Supporting all our children is what our school does seamlessly.
“They may forget what you said, but they will not forget how you made them feel.” – Carl Buechner
Quite a few of our students receive speech and language instruction several times per week. Additionally, a few of the students have oral motor and/or sensory needs. Your donations to this project will enable our children to receive the resources they need.
In the classroom, children chew on many items that are not always what is best! We will be able to ensure children have appropriate materials to "chew" on when it is needed.
