Chemistry Brings Joy With a Fun and Organized Classroom

Help me give my students get materials to make their chemistry learning journey fun and organized with a spinner board, dice, and organizer pouches.

My Students

My students are talented and motivated artists who work hard to combine their love of the arts with their academic studies. We are an art school in NYC where students from diverse backgrounds are united in their dedication to artistic and academic excellence. Approximately three-fourths of my students are female.

Through hands-on, engaging learning activities, all our students explore the world around them.

In my chemistry class, my artistic students will see the science that shapes the world around us. Understanding the science of climate change, disease, and human health will empower my students to shape the world around them positively. Science, technology, and policy shape the future. Gaining scientific knowledge will give my students' voices power as they make choices that will impact our futures.

My Project

This project includes tools like a spinning wheel and die that we will use to make chemistry practice a fun game. Creating chemistry-centered, fun, and interactive interactive games students will be able to learn about the abstract world of chemistry while connecting with one another. Try your luck, spin an element and test your learning to see if you can describe its properties!

With these materials learning chemistry can be both fun and social activity for my students.

All of my students had limited opportunities to interact with academic materials as they learned most of their academics remotely for more than a year. While playing chemistry games students will engage with both chemistry and one another. Every student benefits when they have the opportunity to explain their understanding and learn from one another.

This project also includes organizational pouches we will use to organize individual materials like periodic tables and calculators. This project will ensure that students have the resources to make their exploration in chemistry productive and engaging.
