Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"We felt so alone." These were the first words I heard from my students. I watched each of their faces drop as they described their experience with their past coach. Witnessing the sadness that spread through the room, I reassured them that I would not abandon them. I promised them that we would work together to build not just a team but a family.
Together, we have built a solid foundation and an unbreakable bond.
Our students need assistance in achieving their athletic goals. Despite the lack of facilities, funding, and training equipment, these ladies have progressed tremendously. This past season they earned a 3rd place and 1st place trophy in two competitive Cheerleading Competitions. They are hardworking, driven, and deserve the tools needed to soar!
My Project
Help me give my students the tools they need to take their skills to the next level. This training equipment will significantly improve their athletic abilities. But most importantly it will keep them safe.
The materials and supplies will help me to increase their athletic ability and confidence.
The helmets will be used to ensure that all members are protected as we venture into difficult stunts and transitions.
With these tools we hope to significantly increase each athletes, strength, speed, and agility. Further allowing them to seek college scholarships in cheer. We hope that with their improved skill set, they will become more confident and believe they they can achieve greatness.
