Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This is our second year having cheerleaders for the basketball season, and our cheer squad is all that and more! I am incredibly proud of this crew of athletes. At our school, cheering is tied into an incentive for academics and behavior. For some students, cheering helps them stay on track in both of those spheres.

Awards, water bottles, and bags are incentives that tie into our PBIS culture at our school.

Practicing, keeping grades up, and attending games are all requirements to earn these incentives.

These mementos will also remind them of their time in cheering and let them know they are appreciated. They can use the bags and water bottles as they continue on their athletic journeys long after they leave our school. The awards will remind them that hard work and perseverance pay off!
