Who remembers summer camp? The friends you met. The memories you made. This year was a great year for our cheer squad. For the very first time our school has an actual cheer team. Our girls have worked hard to learn new cheers, formations, and they are discovering the power of teamwork.
Our school has the most spirited cheerleaders on the face of the earth.
They have brought much joy and pride to our school and the community. Our school, is one, of only two elementary cheer teams in the district. For many of the girls, this squad has become their second family. The girls have learned how to depend on one another and have also learned about the importance of balancing academics and extra curricula activities. Moreover, I am proud to say that all girls on the squad have maintained a 2.8 G.P.A. or higher. The cheer squad provides numerous opportunities including the opportunity to participate in community service and the chance to build leadership skills. This school year was the first year for our squad and I am proud beyond measure to serve as head coach. Our girls have been invited to cheer alongside one of the local university during their home basketball games. Attending the camp will give my squad the boost of confidence they need to perform on the next level.
I am asking for your help in sending our cheer squad to a three day cheer camp in order to improve their techniques and team building skills. During the camp, students will learn basic cheer stunts, which will help them build their craft as cheerleaders and help them move to the next level. For most, if not all of my cheerleaders, this would not be option. The opportunity to cheer at school provides our students the option to participate without the financial burden of cheering at a local club. As a coach, this camp will also help me give my students the tools they need to compete with local cheerleaders who have more resources and experience. All of the girls on our team are beginning cheerleaders. Our squad was created because our girls have a passion to cheer, promised to always give 110 percent, and pledged to keep up their academics. Help me give my students an experience that will last for years to come.
I want to give my girls the opportunity to soar.
As a teacher, I know the importance of perfecting my craft. I want my students to receive the best educational experience when they enter my class. Therefore, as the cheer coach, I want my students to perfect their craft as cheerleaders. Giving them the opportunity to attend cheer camp will help them learn additional skills necessary to advance to the next level. Help me build a better team by giving our cheerleaders the training they need.
