Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I teach first grade n an Equity Plus school which consists of a population of 80% free and/or reduced lunch, 20% English as a Second Language and 18% Exceptional Children. In my own classroom I try to engage my students in many different activities. I like using charts. I have found a Question of the Day Chart Kit that would be very useful to help my students develop self-awareness, identify names, expand their vocabulary and record and analyze data. There are 100 questions which contain color coded answer cards, with pictures to help the low or non readers be able to participate. I am also asking for a chart stand to display the charts that I use in my classroom. The chart stand is mobile and would allow me to use charts in many different places in my classroom. I am also asking for a set of pointers for my students to use while reading from the charts or board in my classroom. Thank-you for considering my proposal. I am asking for your help to make my students learning experience more meaningful.
