This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school has a diverse population of students. The school spirit here is vivacious and well received. The students come from a mixture of socioeconomic backgrounds. This allows the students at our school to relate to many different walks of life and social groups.

The students at this school work hard.

They are also very accepting of others and their differences. They do very well working in a collaborative setting because of this. They want to work with technology in the classroom, and when given the opportunity, they dive into problem-solving using technology.

My Project

I currently spend around 5 minutes a day passing out and collecting TI Nspire CX calculators to my statistics classes. This is because I don't have a docking station for the calculators. Instead, they are kept in a drawer where they are individually charged using a mess of too many cords. This is difficult to organize and worst of all takes time out of instruction.

TI Nspire CX docking stations will increase the efficiency of my classroom.

They will help add over 15 hours of instruction per class! That's 15 more lessons or activities! Furthermore, I will never hand a student a "dead" calculator again.

The docking stations will sit at the front of my room and the calculators will be in the stations, charging when they are not in use. Students will be able to come to the docking stations and grab their assigned calculators before the bell rings, saving time and ensuring that every student has a fully charged calculator.
